The new Hyundai Venue is India's first Connected Car, debuting the brand's Blue Link Connectivity solutions. The Hyundai Blue Link Connectivity offers 33 features (10 of them specifically for the Indian market), including geo-fencing, emergency assistance and car tracking among others.
In terms of design, the Venue SUV carries forward Hyundai's latest design language. This includes the signature cascading hexagonal front grille, dual headlamp cluster with a thin light strip on top for the turn indicator and the main headlamps cluster below integrated with the LED DRLs. There is also a silver accents on the front bumper which surrounds both the fog lamps on either sides and the air intake at the centre while also featuring skid plates.
The side and rear profile of the Venue continues to follow Hyundai's design language, while also borrowing styling cues from its larger sibling, the Creta. The side profile also showcases flared wheel arches which cover the large and stylish diamond-cut alloy wheels. The rear profile comes with squarish LED tail lights with a unique cluster design, adding to the premiumness of the compact-SUV. The rear bumpers also comes with reflectors on either side and a skid plate as well — read our first look review for more details.
Inside, the Hyundai Venue comes with an all-black dashboard and cabin. The dashboard does come with a large 8.0-inch infotainment display on the central console. Venue also gets silver accents on the dashboard around the AC Vents, central console and the steering wheel, adding to the premium look on the inside.
The Hyundai Venue is available with three powertrain options. This includes a 1.2-litre petrol borrowed from the Elite i20 premium hatchback. It produces 83bhp and 115Nm of torque and comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. A 1.4-litre diesel from the Creta churning out 89bhp and 220Nm of torque with a six-speed manual transmission.
Hyundai also offers the Venue with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol which puts out 120bhp and 170Nm of torque. This engine will come mated to wither a six-speed manual or a seven-speed Dual-Clutch automatic Transmission (DCT).
In terms of features, the Hyundai Venue comes packed with equipment. Apart from the Blue Link Connectivity mentioned earlier, the compact-SUV also comes packed with wireless charging, electric sunroof, Arkamys Sound system, cruise control, glove box cooling, six airbags, Hill-Assist Control (HAC), Brake-Assist Control (BAC), ABS, EBD, ESC, VSM, speed-sensing auto door lock and ISOFIX; among a host of others.
Thoughts On The Hyundai Venue Launch In India
The Hyundai Venue is the first compact-SUV from the brand in the Indian market. The Venue is positioned below the Creta in one of the most competitive-segments in the Indian market. The Hyundai Venue rivals the likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and the Tata Nexon.
