Tata Nexon EV is the first electric vehicle to feature Ziptron EV technology. The Nexon EV is also the first homegrown pure electric compact-SUV. Tata claims it has a driving range of 312 kilometres. The home charger that comes with the car takes around 8 hours to charge up the battery completely. The DC fast-charging technology on the other hand charges the Nexon EV’s batteries from 0 to 80 percent in just 60 minutes. The Tata Nexon EV also features regenerative braking to harness electricity and charge the batteries while braking.
The Hyundai Kona is the Korean auto giant’s first electric offering in India. The electric SUV features the latest technology and provides great comfort to its occupants. The Hyundai Kona Electric boasts a claimed range of 452 kilometres on a single charge which is simply brilliant. The Kona EV is fast charging-enabled and this can juice up the SUV to 80 percent charge in just 60 minutes. Charging the SUV from 0to 100 percent through the wall socket at home takes 6 hours.
The Audi E-Tron GT is the fastest electric car currently on sale in India. It is super quick, accelerating from 0-100km/h in just 4.1 seconds. It is powered by a 93kW battery that sends electricity to its 390kW motor. There is a more extreme RS variant of the Audi E-Tron GT and this one is powered by a 475kW motor that accelerates the car to 100km/h in just 3.3 seconds. The performance EV boasts a claimed range of around 500 kilometres.
The EQC is Mercedes-Benz’ take on what a premium EV in India should be. It has all the typical Mercedes-Benz traits while also featuring some brilliant specifications. The Mercedes-Benz EQC is powered by an 80kWh battery pack that leads to a claimed range of around 420 kilometres. With features like Active Range Monitoring, it is easy to squeeze that extra kilometre from the battery. It is luxurious and loaded with features. Charging can be done via the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox home charger or a public AC or DC charging station.
The Tata Tigor is a compact notchback from Tata Motors and is powered by Tata’s very own Ziptron Ev technology. The electric vehicle offers a host of features including a 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. In terms of range, Tata claims the Tigor can clock a distance of 213 kilometres on one full charge. Tata has limited the top speed of the Tigor EV to 80kmph to get the maximum range out of the EV. The Tigor EV is available with two charging options: a regular charger that takes up to 12 hours to fully charge the battery, and a fast charger that juices the battery up to 80 per cent in two hours.
