MG Motor UK Unveils Cyberster Trophy And GT: The Future Of Luxury EV Roadsters
MG Motor UK has officially opened orders for its eagerly awaited electric vehicle (EV), the Cyberster, marking a significant milestone in the company's century-long history. With the first deliveries in the UK scheduled for August of this year, the Cyberster is set to become MG's new flagship model. The launch includes two versions: the single motor Cyberster Trophy, starting at £54,995 On The Road (OTR), and the more premium Cyberster GT, priced at £59,995. This pricing positions the GT as not only the marque's most luxurious offering but also its most powerful production model to date.
The Cyberster comes equipped with four distinct drive modes: Comfort, Custom, Sport, and Track. These settings allow drivers to fully experience the vehicle's capabilities, tailored to their driving preferences. The interior of the Cyberster matches its performance with luxury, featuring 6-way electrically-adjustable heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and a bespoke wind deflector for an enhanced driving experience.
Both the Trophy and GT models are powered by a 77kWh battery pack, boasting impressive range capabilities. The Trophy variant offers a maximum range of 316 miles under the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), while the GT variant provides up to 276 miles. This balance of range and performance underscores MG's commitment to innovation in electric mobility.
Designed with a focus on performance and handling, the Cyberster features a chassis optimized for both UK and continental roads. It incorporates Brembo brakes and a three-mode regenerative braking system to enhance energy efficiency. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems such as Lane Change Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Blind Spot Detection to ensure safety and convenience on the road.
The cabin of the Cyberster is designed around a classic two-seat configuration, integrating a wraparound three-screen cockpit that offers an extensive range of infotainment features. This includes compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Practical design elements like a central armrest with storage space and a 249-litre boot capacity add to the vehicle's appeal.
