Hyundai Creta EV Spotted Testing: Exterior & Interior Details Here

South Korean carmaker Hyundai currently offers the Ioniq 5 and the Kona EV as a part of the brand’s electric fleet for India. Hyundai is currently getting ready to launch its most affordable electric car in the Indian domestic market, the Creta EV.

Spy pics of a camouflaged test model of the electric Hyundai Creta have recently been released on the internet. In the images, the electric variant of the Hyundai Creta appears to retain most of the parts both inside and outside of its ICE sibling.

On the interior of the electric variant of the Hyundai Creta, Hyundai has opted for a new sleek steering wheel with some chrome accents. The rest of the interior remains the same as the ICE variant. The centre console, dashboard, seats and interior space, including other parts, remain the same in both variants.

The spied Hyundai Creta also reveal that the electric variant will come with the same infotainment display and driver instrument cluster, as seen in the petrol and diesel variants of the Creta.

It is in Hyundai’s brand language to not have any branding on their electric vehicle steering wheel, like the Ioniq 5. Hyundai seems to have taken the same approach with the Creta Electric.

The spy shots also reveal that Hyundai has chosen to place the drive selector on the right side, behind the steering wheel. This is another feature we have seen Hyundai use on the Ioniq 5.

The pictures do not reveal much of the exterior of the car as it is camouflaged. However, the electric Creta in the images, seem to be equipped with an upgraded aero rim which comes on a lot of EVs. The general shape and styling of the camouflaged electric Creta seems to resemble the ICE variant.

The Creta Electric is expected to have a lot of the same features as the ICE model. The Hyundai Creta Electric is expected to come with the same dual-tone interior options, with leather power-adjustable seats in the top trims.

Other features that can be expected on the Creta Electric are a wireless phone charger, USB Chargers, ventilated seats, rear AC vents, cruise control, a cooler in the glove box, premium speakers, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with other features.

Hyundai never holds back when it comes to safety precautions, and the Creta is no exception. The Creta Electric will include safety features like ADAS, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control, TPMS, parking cameras and sensors, and an anti-theft alarm.

Hyundai is yet to announce official details on the powertrain and performance of the Creta Electric. It is safe to expect that the Creta Electric could deliver up to 400km on a single charge, keeping up with industry standards. Hyundai is expected to launch the Creta Electric between 2024 and 2025. The expected price of the Creta Electric is expected to be north of Rs 20 lakhs.

DriveSpark Thinks

The introduction of the Hyundai Creta Electric will mark a significant step towards Hyundai's commitment to sustainable mobility in India. With its familiar interior and exterior design, the Creta Electric is likely to appeal to existing Creta owners looking to transition to electric mobility.
