Hyundai Creta Facelift Achieves Big Milestone - 1 Lakh SUVs Sold Since January

South Korean carmaker Hyundai announced the facelifted Creta SUV for the Indian market on the 16th of January. In just around three months of the SUV’s launch, Hyundai has stated that one lakh Creta have been sold till date.

Since the arrival of the first generation of the Hyundai Creta, buyers in the Indian domestic market have shown high interest in the SUV. Over 10 lakh units of the Creta have been sold since its initial launch in 2015. The facelifted variants continue this popular trend with 13,000 units of the SUV being sold every month in the last fiscal year.

Hyundai Creta facelift

The facelifted Hyundai Creta is being offered in seven trim levels, E, EX, S, S (O), SX, SX Tech, and SX (O). Depending on the trim levels, the Creta comes with three engine options - a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel – that are paired with manual, iVT, DCT, or AT transmissions.

Hyundai has equipped the Creta with technology features like Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, 18-inch alloy rims, dual 10.25-inch screens for the instrumentation and the infotainment system, a voice assistant, 360-degree cameras, Bose speakers, an air purifier, wireless mobile charger and multiple drive modes with traction control, among other impressive features.

Hyundai has said that 71 per cent buyers of the new Creta have opted for trim levels with a sunroof. 52 per cent of buyers have opted for the mid or high-trim levels which come with connected car tech features.

The Hyundai Creta is priced between Rs 11 lakh and 20 lakh (ex-showroom price) in the Indian market. Hyundai recently added the Creta N line to their fleet which has an ex-showroom price of Rs 16.82 lakh to Rs 20.30 lakh. The Creta rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Citroen C3 Aircross, Skoda Kushaq and the Honda Elevate.

Hyundai is expected to debut all-electric version of the Creta by the end of this year with price details expected in the beginning of 2025.
