Kabira Electric Motorcycles Sold Out In Just 4 Days: Both KM3000 & KM4000 Receive Overwhelming Response

Now, days after its launch Kabira Mobility have announced that both their electric motorcycles have been sold out. The company stated that their first batch of motorcycles, consisting of 5000 units have been sold out in just 4 days time.

Both electric motorcycles were first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. While the launch took place last month, actual deliveries of the two models are expected to begin only by May 2021.

The KM 3000 is a full-faired electric motorcycle, with a styling clearly inspired by the entry-level Kawasaki Ninja 300. The KM4000 is a naked street fighter electric bike, which also seems to have been inspired by another Kawasaki, this time it is the litre-class Z1000 model. However, the front headlamps of the KM4000 seem to be similar to that of the Yamaha FZ-S model.

The Kabira KM3000 being a fully-faired motorcycle still manages to weigh 138kg, which is 9kg less than its naked street-fighter KM4000 sibling. The two electric motorcycles feature varying suspension setups as well.

While the KM3000 comes with standard telescopic forks, the range-topping KM4000 comes with USD forks. Braking, however, is standard across both models, featuring a single disc at both the front and rear.

Coming to the powertrain, the Kabira KM3000 comes with a 4.0kWh lithium-ion battery mated to a 6kW electric motor. The electric motorcycle claims a maximum range of 120km on a single charge and a top speed of 100km/h. Kabira also claims a quick acceleration timing of 0 - 40km/h in 3.1 seconds.

The Kabira KM4000 comes with a slightly larger powertrain consisting of a 4.4kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with an 8kW motor. The KM4000 comes with a maximum range of 150km on a single charge and a top speed of 120km/h. The electric motorcycle also claims an identical 3.1 seconds acceleration time for its 0 - 40km/h sprint.

Both electric motorcycles offer 2 types of charging: Eco and Boost. The Eco method charges the batteries from 0 - 100% in 6.5 hours. The Boost mode, however, brings down the charging time, with 0 - 80% charge being completed in just 2 hours.

Both the Kabira KM3000 & KM4000 electric motorcycles have tall claims in their name, most of which are yet to be proved. This along with the very striking design similarities of the two electric bikes with other IC-engine powered models does hamper confidence a bit.
