KTM 125 Duke Just Got More Expensive — Price Hiked By Rs 7,000
Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM has hiked the price of its most affordable bike, the 125 Duke. Dealers have confirmed that 125 Duke's prices have been raised by between a minimum of Rs 7,000 (Delhi) depending on the state, with the increase being as high as Rs 8,390 (Karnataka).
The 125 Duke is the entry-level motorcycle from KTM for the Indian market and was launched late last year in November at an introductory price of Rs 1.18 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The price hike, which came into effect on April 1, at the start of the new financial year 2019-20, has seen the price of the 125 Duke rise to Rs 1.25 lakh ex-showroom, in the nation's capital of Delhi. Prices in Bangalore, on the other hand are now over Rs 1.26 lakh before taxes.
The KTM 125 Duke is powered by 124.7cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine that produces 14.5bhp and 12Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. The KTM 125 Duke has a dry weight of 148 kilogrammes and is the most powerful 125cc segment bike currently on sale in India. The 125 Duke has a claimed mileage of 46km/l (ARAI).
The KTM 125 Duke bought with it quite a few first-in-class features when it was launched back in November. These features include the trellis frame chassis and the 43mm upside down forks up front along with the aluminium swingarm. The KTM 125 Duke features a 10-way adjustable monoshock at the rear.
Braking on the smallest member of the KTM Duke lineup is provided by a 300mm disc brake with radial fixed four-piston callipers up front. At the rear, stopping power comes in the form of the 230mm disc brake with a floating single piston calliper. The brakes on the KTM 125 Duke are helped along by single channel ABS from Bosch. The baby Duke also features rear-wheel lift protection, which stops the rear wheel from lifting up when the front brake is pressed hard.
The KTM 125 Duke sits on 17-inch alloy wheels which are shod with 110/70 (front) and 150/60 (rear) tyres. The fuel tank of the KTM 125 Duke can hold 10.2-litres of petrol and the seat height of the naked motorcycle is 818mm.
