MG Reveals Gloster Facelift Launch Date - New Alloy Wheels, Features & More

Like other MG models, the MG Gloster is packed to the brim with technology and features. In fact, it is the only SUV in its segment to come with advanced driving aids and ADAS technology.

However, MG Motor India seems to think that the MG Gloster SUV deserves an update despite the model still looking quite fresh and contemporary. Moreover, heavily camouflaged iterations of the MG Gloster SUVs have been spied a few times now.

That being said, MG Motor India has now announced the launch date of the facelifted iteration of the MG Gloster SUV in India. According to the company, the facelifted iteration of the MG Gloster SUV will go on sale on August 31.

The details about the launch of the facelifted MG Gloster SUV were updated through the company's social media handles.

Since this is a facelifted version, we expect the upcoming MG Gloster facelift to feature a few minor updates on the exterior to make the SUV feel a bit sharper and angular. Other than this, we also expect a mild update on the interior as well.

However, we do not expect the upcoming facelifted iteration of the MG Gloster SUV to feature any mechanical changes. However, there is a possibility of MG Motor India re-tuning the powertrain for better power delivery.

Apart from that, it is also worth mentioning that the upcoming MG Gloster will retain the 4WD system and ADAS unit.

In terms of changes, the spied images of the upcoming facelifted iteration of the MG Gloster SUV confirm that the model will feature a new set of alloy wheels. In addition to this, we expect a slightly larger infotainment unit as well.

At present, the MG Gloster SUV comes with two engine options. The 2WD variants of the MG Gloster SUVs are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine with 160bhp of peak power and 375Nm of peak torque.

In comparison, the 4WD variant of the MG Gloster is powered by a twin-turbo version of the same engine. This iteration of the engine produces 215bhp of peak power and 480Nm of peak torque. Moreover, both engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard.

At prest, the outgoing iteration of the MG Gloster SUV comes packed with features such as a 360-degree surround-view camera system, wireless charger, heated front seats, massaging seats, cooled seats, PM2.5 filter, auto headlights, powered seats, auto-dimming IRVM, heated ORVMs, push button start/stop, drive modes, and many more.

Other than this, the MG Gloster SUV also comes with advanced safety features such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), driver fatigue reminder, Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and more.

Prices for the MG Gloster start from Rs 31.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). We expect the updated iteration of the MG Gloster SUV to receive a minor price hike of around Rs 50,000.

The MG Gloster SUV already looks pretty fresh and its main competitors are yet to catch up with the Gloster in terms of features as well. However, MG Motor India is gearing up to launch the updated model ahead of the festive season in a bid to boost the overall sales of the SUV.
