MG Yep Plus Electric SUV Makes Its Debut In China – 100bhp, 400+km Range & More
The much-awaited MG Yep Plus electric SUV (eSUV), has made its debut in China. This model is the five-door iteration of the Baojun Yep and comes with an attractive design and practical features.
If launched in India, the new MG Yep Plus eSUV has the potential to directly compete against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny SUV. Moreover, being electric, the MG Yep Plus eSUV is a model that will make a lot of sense to urban buyers and small families.

In China, prices for the MG Yep Plus starts at CNY 93,800 and goes up to CNY 103,800 (approximately Rs 10.9 lakh to Rs 12 lakh). At this price point, the MG Yep Plus eSUV is offering tremendous value for money.
Design and Specifications
The MG Yep Plus adheres to the 'Square Box+' design language, boasting a robust boxy silhouette enhanced by rugged body cladding, projecting a strong off-road appeal. The vehicle's dimensions span 3,996mm in length, 1,760mm in width, and 1,726mm in height, with a wheelbase measuring 2,560mm.

Exterior design highlights of the new MG Yep Plus eSUV include LED lighting, roof rails, and unique body panels between the C and D pillars, complemented by 16-inch alloy wheels and a 150mm ground clearance.
Inside, the Yep Plus features a spacious and well-appointed cabin with a dual-tone colour scheme, soft-touch plastics, and contrasting white stitching. The dashboard hosts a 10.1-inch centre infotainment screen and an 8.8-inch instrument screen.

Practicality is a key focus of the MG Yep Plus eSUV. In fact, the model comes equipped with 28 storage spaces and a boot capacity of 385L, expandable to 1,715L with the rear seats folded.
Performance and Range
Powered by a 75kW (100bhp) electric motor, the Yep Plus delivers a peak torque of 180Nm, directing power to the front wheels. The vehicle supports four driving modes: Economy+, Economy, Standard, and Sports. The top speed is capped at 150km/h.

The eSUV is equipped with a 41.9kWh battery pack from Guoxuan High-Tech, offering a fast charging option. On a single charge, the MG Yep Plus claims a range of 401km according to the CLTC cycle, making it a viable option for both city commutes and longer journeys.
