MG Gloster Sets New Standards With Zero Maintenance Ownership Experience Program
MG Motor has rolled out a unique Ownership Experience Program for its Gloster model. This initiative is set to make owning a Gloster practically cost-free in terms of maintenance. By doing so, MG Motor India is positioning its Gloster as a formidable contender against the Toyota Fortuner, aiming to attract a broader customer base including VIPs, businessmen, politicians, and off-road enthusiasts.
The Ownership Experience Program introduced by MG promises to cover all service and repair costs, including wear-and-tear parts like wiper blades, engine oil, oil filters, and brake pads, for a period of three years or 45,000 km from the time of purchase, whichever comes first. This bold move is expected to provide Gloster owners with a worry-free ownership experience.

However, it's important to note that the promotional materials included an asterisk next to the promise of "Zero" maintenance costs, indicating that further details would need to be obtained directly from MG dealers.
Furthermore, the program encompasses an assured buyback option after three years of owning the Gloster, with an option for owners to extend the zero maintenance coverage up to five years or 75,000 km for an additional fee. This flexibility is anticipated to appeal especially to those who prefer to keep their vehicles for extended periods.
The challenge MG Gloster faces against the Toyota Fortuner is significant. The Fortuner's stronghold on the large SUV segment is bolstered by its popularity among VIPs and its reputation for reliability and high resale value.
DriveSpark Thinks
Despite these advantages for the Fortuner, MG's no-maintenance cost initiative and assured buyback offer aim to enhance Gloster’s appeal, focusing on reducing ownership costs and offering peace of mind to potential buyers.
As the 2024 MG Gloster facelift has been spotted, it's clear that MG Motor India is not holding back in its efforts to make a mark in this competitive segment. While the Gloster may not directly influence the first factor of Fortuner's success - its VIP, political, and business affiliations - MG's focus on eliminating maintenance costs and providing an assured buyback option is a strategic move to attract customers looking for value and reliability in their large SUV purchase.
