Gulf Oil Partners With McLaren: Makes Return To Formula 1 This Weekend
In exciting news for Formula 1 fans, Gulf Oil's iconic blue and orange colors are set to make their return to the sport. The brand has announced a multi-year strategy deal with McLaren.

The new partnership extends to McLaren's Formula 1 Team and its luxury supercar outfit, Mclaren Automotive.
McLaren's Formula One cars will now feature Gulf Oil branding starting with this weekend's 2020 British Grand Prix. Gulf Oil's blue and orange colours will feature on race car drivers Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz's race suits, and on pit crew uniforms as well.

Mr Zak Brown, the Chief Executive Officer at McLaren Racing, said, "We're delighted to welcome Gulf Oil back to McLaren and reunite two iconic brands back together in a new and exciting partnership. Gulf is part of McLaren's history and are well-known for their innovation and technical excellence in the industry, which aligns with McLaren perfectly. We are looking forward to starting our partnership together this season."

McLaren ended its partnership with Brazil based oil giants Petrobras with the aim of reducing overall costs, effectively allowing for the deal with Gulf Oil to be inked.

The new partnership will see Gulf Oil become McLaren Automotive's preferred lubricant partner starting 2021, and the company will have all its cars filled with Gulf Oil lubricants and fuel that has been optimised for high-performance supercars.

The orange and black colours will also be showcased at all McLaren Automotive Pure Customer events that are hosted at locations across the globe, at retailers and on all team kits.

Mr Mike Jones, the Chief Executive Officer at Gulf Oil said, "This is a very exciting partnership that brings the Gulf brand back into elite motor racing. The history books are full of remarkable tales that Gulf Oil and McLaren have achieved in the past and now we are together once more to write the next chapter of this unique partnership."

"We're proud to be working alongside a brand that shares our ambitions for innovation and growth aspirations, both, on the road and on the track. We look forward to working together and developing both Gulf Oil and McLaren's class-leading capabilities further," he added.

In addition, a limited number of McLaren owners will be offered the chance to have their supercars hand painted at McLaren Special Operation (the brand's customs division) in blue and orange that are inspired by the F1 GTR Le Mans car from the 1990s.

Thoughts About Gulf Oil Making A Return To Formula One
Gulf Oil and McLaren first partnered between 1968 and 1973, and enjoyed success in Formula 1 and the Can-Am series, in which the partnership won over 40 races. It will be exciting for fans to see the Gulf Oil colours return to F1 this weekend. We're definitely watching the race, just for the blue and orange!
