Auto Expo 2014: Audi A3 Sedan Revealed In India

Audi A3, the entry level sedan from the German automaker, was revealed at the Auto Expo 2014 with an intended launch in India soon. This is an important car for Audi as this will open up the Audi the brand for far more new customers than any previous models

But it was the reveal of the A3 Cabriolet that took everyone by surprise. The open roof top version of the A3 is expected to add to the brand value to the entry level sedan.

There is plenty more to look at besides the A3s at Audi's space, including sports car concepts, race car prototypes, sports cars and SUVs.

Audi A3 Revealed

The A3 will sit below the A4 after launch and will be powered by a 1.8 litre turbo and a 2.0 litre diesel engine.

While S-Tronic dual clutch will be standard, Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system will not make it to the A3. It will instead be a front wheel drive only model. Expected price is in the range of INR 25 lakhs.

Audi A3 Cabriolet

The convertible version of the A3 will be imported to India and hence is expected to cost quite a lot more as well.

Audi RS7 Sportback

The most powerful Audi sold in India, the recently launched RS7 comes fitted with a 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 engine rated at 560 HP and 700 Nm of torque. The RS7 sells for INR 1.3 crores (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

This is the 2013 Le Mans winning diesel hybrid endurance racer, one of the most technologically advanced sports cars in the world.

Audi Sport Quattro Concept

This is an electric hybrid concept that can do a 0-100km/h sprint in 3.7 seconds and reach 305 km/h using its electric motor and a 4.0 litre V8 twin turbo. It also has a pure electric range of 50 km/h and fuel economy figure of 40 km/l.
