The Apache RTR 200 4V is the flagship offering from TVS in the popular 200cc performance motorcycle segment. The motorcycle features completely revamped styling which is an evolution of the Apache RTR series. The overall design is aggressive and sharp but retains the design elements of smaller Apache models.
The front end looks sharp with LED DRLs, the fuel tank is muscular with shrouds and the engine cowl renders the motorcycle an aggressive look. The step-up split seats and W-shaped split grab rails enhance the sporty appeal of the Apache 200 4V. The tail section looks sleek and sharp thanks to the new LED tail light. The twin-barrel exhaust also plays its part in making the motorcycle look sporty.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is powered by a 197.75cc oil-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-valve engine with a maximum power output of 20.7bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque output of 18.1Nm at 7,000rpm. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle offers a punchy yet linear power delivery which is suited for city conditions. The double-barrel exhaust has a throaty exhaust note. With the meat of the torque being generated at 7,000rpm, the motorcycle can reach a top speed of 127km/h. The Apache 200 4V can sprint from 0-60km/h in just 3.9 seconds.
In the premium 200cc segment, customers do not look for mileage. But still, the Apache RTR 200 4V returns a decent mileage of 35kmpl in the city and 45kmpl on highways. The average figure would be 41kmpl.
The Apache RTR 200 4V features an all-new digital instrument cluster with loads of information. The motorcycle also gets LED daytime running lights and LED tail light. The engine sits on a split cradle chassis which aids in superior handling. The double-barrel exhaust made out of stainless steel provides a signature low-frequency sound.
The motorcycle features telescopic front forks and KYB monoshock suspension setup at the rear. Braking duties are handled by 270mm petal disc at the front and 240mm petal disc at the rear. The motorcycle is shod with tubeless tyres and gets a 12-litre fuel tank which gives a decent range for long rides.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is the perfect streetfighter motorcycle for the urban conditions. With its brisk acceleration, it is easy to zip around traffic and the top end is suited for highway rides. The suspension setup offers a right mix of comfort and performance. The motorcycle handles well when ridden hard around the corners. Overall it’s a good package in the popular 200cc segment.
