Maruti Swift Crushed Beyond Recognition In A Freak Accident [In Pictures]

The accident took place at the Chomu Circle in Jaipur Rajasthan. An 18-wheeler truck weighing around 46 tonne overturned while negotiating a turn. The Swift was parallel to the truck and was crushed under the truck.

The salt completely covered the car, and according to the local Police, the car was stuck under the truck for nearly three hours. The shocking fact is that nobody was aware of the car until the crane lifted the overturned truck.

The freak crash took place around 4 AM in the morning, but the flattened car came to light only by 6 AM. By the time the car was discovered, all the five people were found dead.

Five occupants were travelling in the Swift, and all the bodies were badly disfigured. The family was going to Nahargarh Fort and was preparing for a wedding. Unfortunately, the engaged couple were also travelling in the car.

The driver and the cleaner of the truck fled the scene after the accident. Police suspect that the truck was travelling at high speed. The heavy vehicle overturned and fell on the Swift when the driver suddenly applied the brakes.

The accident is so brutal that the Swift has been flattened to an extent where it appears to be a sheet of metal. Indian roads are full of overloaded trucks, and the drivers of other vehicles should be extra cautious.

Here are few tips to avoid such accidents. Never drive too close or tailgate a heavy vehicle, never spend too much time parallel to a heavy truck and never attempt an overtake on sharp curves. On tight bends, there is a possibility of the heavy vehicle to topple due to overloading.
