Hyundai Planning Budget 7-Seater MPV For India - Big Rival To Ertiga?
Hyundai is planning to introduce 26 new products in the Indian market by 2030. A budget 7-seater MPV is among the lineup, which is expected to be based on the Stargazer. If launched, it could become a strong rival to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
Hyundai Upcoming 7 Seat MPV car
The Stargazer is a spacious MPV that can accommodate seven passengers, offering upmarket interiors and practical features. For the Indian market, it is expected to be heavily localised and modified, with several updates to make it more competitive in the segment.

Proper MPV Design
The silhouette is distinctive and follows a typical MPV design, with a wider and more aerodynamic bonnet that enhances its overall appeal. It is also expected to feature a redesigned grille with LED light bars, along with LED tail lamps and a revised rear bumper design.
Comfortable Cabin
For passenger comfort, the cabin is designed to be spacious and practical. It is expected to offer captain seats for second-row passengers, providing easier access to the third row. Rear passengers are likely to get roof-mounted air vents, although for the Indian market, these could be repositioned to the sides to accommodate a panoramic sunroof.

Smart Features
Some of the key features are expected to include an electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, smart keyless entry, and multiple drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport, and Smart). It may also get Hyundai SmartSense, a door opening warning system, rear disc brakes, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.
Powertrain and Transmission
The Stargazer is expected to be powered by a 1.5L MPi petrol engine paired with an IVT transmission. For the Indian market, it could also be offered with a 1.5L CRDi diesel engine and a 1.5L turbo petrol engine.

Technology Features
It is likely to feature a twin seamless infotainment display, along with physical controls for AC and volume. Other expected features include a 4.2-inch driver display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12V charger, USB Type-C and Type-A ports, rear seat tables, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality.
Price Expectations
Since this MPV car is focusing the entry level MPV segment against rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Kia Carens. The Hyundai Stargazer or based model could start somewhere around 8 lakh (ex-showroom) which could be a competitive pricing.
