Upcoming Car Launches In India During August 2019 — Here is The List!
The Indian car market is currently facing a severe decline in sales since the past couple of months. Most carmakers in the country have been registering a downward slope in sales consistently as well.
The market is expected to improve only with the arrival of the festive season, during the later part of 2019. However, this hasn't stopped car manufacturers from introducing new products in the country.
Even with the slump in the automotive sector, carmakers have decided to go ahead and introduce new products in the Indian market. Here are the five upcoming car launches in India during the month of August 2019:
Kia Seltos
The Kia Seltos is probably one of the most-awaited products to enter the Indian market. Scheduled to launch in India on the 22nd of August, bookings for the new mid-size SUV has already begun across the country.
The Kia Seltos was globally unveiled in India last month and comes with a host features and equipment; most of them being either best-in-class or segment-firsts. The Seltos will powered by three engine options: two petrol and one diesel (all BS-VI compliant) and will come mated with a choice of four transmission units — here is everything you need to know about the Kia Seltos.

Maruti Suzuki XL6
The second car on the list is the Maruti Suzuki XL6 MPV. This is a premium six-seater MPV offering from the brand based on the Ertiga model. Maruti Suzuki will launch the new car on the 21st of August 2019, with bookings said to begin sometime in the first week of the month.
The new premium six-seater XL6 MPV will be sold exclusively through Maruti Suzuki's Nexa dealerships. The car has been spotted multiple times with both the exterior and interiors revealed. The car will come with individual captain seats in the second row while the exterior design is also expected to undergo a few changes; differentiating it from the Ertiga.
The car will be powered by a single BS-VI compliant 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 104bhp and 138Nm of torque. It will be mated to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed torque-converter automatic.
Hyundai Grand i10
Hyundai has confirmed the launch of their next-generation Grand i10 for India. The 2019 Hyundai Grand i10 will go on sale in the Indian market on the 20th of August, almost a month ahead of its global public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show later this year.
India will be the first market for the new Grand i10 hatchback. Unlike previous generation models, there will be no changes made to the hatchback specifically for India; with Hyundai confirming a single worldwide spec for the car.
The new Hyundai Grand i10 has been officially teased and is expected to feature a number of design updates, added features and a host of new equipment as well. The new Hyundai Grand i10 is also expected to be powered by a new turbo-petrol engine option with an optional DCT transmission as well.
2019 BMW 3 Series
BMW just recently launched two new products in the Indian market: the new 7 Series facelift and the all-new X7 SUV. Now, the German carmaker is preparing the launch of its next product, the 2019 BMW 3 Series facelift. The new entry-level sedan from BMW will go on sale in the Indian market on the 21st of August 2019.
The new 3 Series comes with a significant design update, along with a bunch of changes to its feature list and mechanicals. The 2019 BMW 3 Series is part of the CLAR architecture, the same platform underpinning both the new 7 Series and X7 in the country.
Renault Triber MPV
Renault globally unveiled their all-new sub-four metre MPV, the Triber in India last month. The new Renault Triber will go on sale in India sometime during late-August. Renault is yet to officially confirm the exact date of launch for their new MPV.
The Renault Triber is based on the same platform as the popular Kwid hatchback. The MPV will be powered by the same 1.0-litre engine producing 71bhp and 96Nm of torque. It will be mated to either a five-speed manual or an automatic transmission unit.
Thoughts On The Upcoming Car Launches In India For August 2019
There are a number of upcoming cars in the Indian market. Apart from the five mentioned above, many car manufacturers are also looking at introducing facelift versions of existing models as well; especially with the upcoming BS-VI emission regulations.
