Maruti Suzuki recently updated the Baleno premium hatchback in the Indian market. The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes with a host of new updates and safety feature equipment compared to the previous model. The new Maruti Baleno receives updates to its front fascia. This includes a reworked front grille, updated bumpers and new fog lamp housing integrated in the bumpers.

There is also a larger air intake on the bumpers while the fog lamps on either side are now in a newly designed c-shaped housing. The front grille also comes with chrome surround and three-dimensional detailing. The front of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno now looks sharper and wider than before. The headlamps have also been slightly tweaked to match the updates to the other features.

The side and rear profile of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, however, remain almost unchanged. The dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels add to the character of the premium hatchback. The rear profile also continues to be the same as the previous models, apart from a few minor updates.

Maruti Suzuki has updated the interiors of the Baleno as well. The new Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes with a blacked-out cabin similar to the previous models. However, the premium hatchback now does come with dual-tone black and blue seat upholstery. The dashboard now features silver accents around the central console and the AC vents, adding to the premiumness of the interiors.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is available in a range of six different paint schemes: Nexa Blue, Pearl Arctic White, Metallic Premium Silver, Pearl Phoenix Red, Metallic Magma Grey and Solid Fire Red (Available only on the Baleno RS).

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is the first product from the brand to receive a BS-VI compliant diesel engine. The Baleno premium hatchback is available in a range of three engine options: two petrol and one diesel.

The petrol unit comes in the form of a 1.2-litre engine producing 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. The second petrol engine is in the form of a new 1.2-litre Dual Jet Smart Hybrid unit which puts out 89bhp and 113Nm of torque.

The diesel comes in the form of a 1.2-litre DDiS 190 unit churning out 75bhp and 190Nm of torque. All three engines are mated to a standard five-speed manual gearbox, with the standard 1.2-litre petrol engine receiving the optional CVT as well.

Maruti Suzuki also offers the Baleno in a sporty RS version. This model uses Maruti`s 1.0-litre three-cylinder Booster Jet  engine, which produces 100bhp and 150Nm of torque. It further comes mated to the standard five-speed manual gearbox as well.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes with a fuel tank capacity of 37-litres. The standard petrol engine returns a fuel efficiency figure of 21.01km/l and 19.56km/l for the manual and CVT variants, respectively. The new Smart Hybrid system offers a mileage of 23.87km/l while the diesel engine has a claimed fuel efficiency of 27.39km/l. All figures are ARAI-certified mileage.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes with a host of features. The new Baleno further receives additional equipment as well.
