Now, more details of Honda electric vehicle has been revealed. A report states that Honda will cut down the charging time of electric vehicles to just 15 minutes by 2020.

Several manufacturers in the world of electric vehicles are developing various charging technology which will reduce charging time. In the fast-paced modern world, nobody has time on their hand, so charging of an electric vehicle might be a problem. But it looks like this problem will be solved with the new technology.

The report also states that Honda will also introduce a number of electric vehicles with a charging time of just 15 minutes and with a driving range of 241km. To achieve such a short charging time, Honda will offer new battery compatible with ultra-fast chargers.

To manufacturer new batteries, Honda will collaborate with another firm which is yet to be revealed. In Japan, the new 350kW chargers are expected to be set up by 2020 which is an upgrade from the current 150kW chargers.

Before introducing the fast-charging electric cars, Honda will launch mass-market electric vehicles in Europe and Japan in 2019 and 2020 respectively. In Europe, several countries are planning to setup 350kW charging stations on the highways to encourage the use of EVs.

Similar to other countries, India is also pushing towards the shift to pure electric vehicles. But the primary challenge is the charging infrastructure which is not in place in the country. But the government plans to shift to electric vehicles by 2030.

Honda is developing an ultra-fast charging technology which is similar to Fisker EMotion EV. The reduction in charging time could be a crucial move in the sales of electric vehicles. Currently, the main drawback of EVs is the charging time and driving range. If both these problems are solved, there is no doubt in EVs becoming the future of automobile industry.
