2018 Mercedes A-Class Interior Revealed
German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has revealed the interior of the upcoming 2018 A-Class.
German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has revealed the revolutionary new interior of the next-generation A-Class which will arrive in 2018.

The set of official images released at event in Germany, show off the all-new interior of the car which Mercedes claims brings new levels of comfort and luxury to the A-Class while making the premium hatchback more spacious and practical than ever.

The changes in the interior come in the form of the all-new dashboard which is split into upper and lower sections by a 'trench', with the top section stretching across the front of the car from one door to the other. The five turbine-like air vents give the new A-Class interior a sporty feel and the three in the centre are slightly angled towards the driver.

Adding to the luxury feel are the front seats which also borrow tech from the larger Merc sedans like the E-Class including heating, ventilation and a massage function.
In addition to the seats, the new A-Class borrows the multi-function steering wheel which features touch controls for the biggest change in the entire interior of the new A-Class - the set of two connected screens, one of which sits behind the steering wheel and replaces the instrument binnacle while the other hosts the infotainment setup for the new A-Class.

The two displays are available in three distinct combinations: two 7.0-inch displays, one 7.0- and one 10.25-inch or both displays measuring in at 10.25-inches. The twin displays automatically adjust their brightness to respond to changing light levels in the car and are covered with an anti-reflective coating.
The dual displays seemingly float above the dashboard, an effect which is enhanced by the ambient lighting system which features 64 different colours.

The 2018 A-Class is more spacious inside compared to the current car with increases in shoulder-room (front +9 mm, rear +22 mm), elbow-room (front +35 mm, rear +36 mm) and headroom (front +7 mm, rear +8 mm). Boot space has also increased to 370-litres (+29-litres) and loading it is also easier thanks to a wider opening.
