This Man Built His Own Airplane To Earn Flying Licence
A Mumbai man has built his own airplane to ear flying licence.
Earning a flying licence is not that easy as getting a driving licence. You have to go through rigorous training and should clear the flying test.
But this Mumbai man had a different idea. Yes, he built his own airplane on his terrace and has earned a flying licence. Mumbai resident Amol Yadav is the man behind this achievement.
Yadav spent six years and had invested around Rs 4 crore to build his own airplane. He also received help from Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis who requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into the matter.
So, Yadav has named his aircraft as VT-NMD (Victor Tango Narendra Modi Devendra) after Narendra Modi and CM Devendra Fadnavis. The Chief Minister himself handed over the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) certificate to Capt. Amol Yadav.

The aircraft built by Yadav is a six-seater airplane which can fly up to heights of 13,000 feet and is capable of reaching top speeds of 185 knots (approximately 342km/h) and it has a range of 2,000kms.
It is an incredible feat by Yadav who built such an aircraft on the terrace of his house in Kandivali, Mumbai. Now, Yadav has planned to build another aircraft which can accommodate up to 20 passengers.
DriveSpark Thinks!
Despite all the odds, Yadav managed to become a licensed pilot by building his own aircraft. Getting a flying licence from DGCA takes a lot of effort and hard work, and it is not as easy as getting a driver licence. But Yadav was determined to fly and chose to build his own aircraft which is an inspiration to youngsters.
