Toyota Kirloskar Motors India is all set to introduce a new product in the Indian market. The new upcoming model will be a compact-SUV, likely to be called the Urban Cruiser. The new sub-4-metre SUV will be the second product from the Toyota-Suzuki partnership, after the Glanza.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser will be based on the recently updated version of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. However, unlike the Toyota Glanza, the Urban Cruiser will feature more significant changes, rather than just a badge replacement.

When will the Toyota Urban Cruiser SUV launch in India?
Toyota is yet to officially announce a specific launch date for the upcoming compact-SUV in the Indian market. However, reports do suggest that the Toyota Urban Cruiser is scheduled to go on sale sometime in August this year. Suzuki has already confirmed that it will start the supply of the Vitara Brezza model to Toyota - here are the details.
What is the expected price range of the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser SUV, once launched in India?
The Toyota Urban Cruiser once launched in India is expected to be priced slightly higher than the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. While the Vitara Brezza prices range between Rs 7.40 lakh to Rs 11.40 lakh, we expect the Urban Cruiser from Toyota to be priced between Rs 8 - 12 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
Having said this, the prices mentioned for the Toyota Urban Cruiser are just assumptions at this point, with an exact price range set to be announced at the time of launch.

Although the upcoming Urban Cruiser will be based on the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Toyota is expected to make significant changes to its design to help differentiate between the two. This includes updates to certain key areas, such as the front grille and the bumpers (both front and rear).
Toyota is unlikely to make any sheet metal changes to the Urban Cruiser, while other parts such as the headlamps, taillights and alloy wheels are expected to remain the same as well.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser will carry forward the same 1.5-litre K15-series petrol engine from the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The Toyota SUV will even offer the same power and torque figures of 104bhp and 138Nm as the Maruti SUV as well. The engine will come mated to a mild-hybrid system as well, with transmission options of both manual and automatic units being offered.
What are the features which will be available on the Toyota Urban Cruiser?
