Indian auto manufacturer Tata Motors, is gearing up to release their BS-VI compliant models in India by next year. Ahead of launch the Altroz, Harrier 5 and 7 seater SUVs BS-VI models has been spotted testing on Indian roads.

The Spy Pics from Rushlane, reveal three heavily camouflaged mules of each models parked next to each other. The Altroz hatchback launch was pushed several times in India. However, the company has sent an invitation to the unveil of Altroz hatchback in December 2019. We expect the launch to happen soon after sometime in January next year.

The Altroz hatchback is also expected to kick start the BS-VI line-up for the company in India. The reason behind the delayed launch of the hatchback, could be Tata Motors releasing the Altroz hatchback with the BS-VI engine from start. This will avoid the company pushing out an update to the Altroz's engine soon after its launch.

The new premium hatchback Tata Altroz, will it is based on the company's ALFA platform and features Tata's Impact 2.0 design. The upcoming hatchback features LED DRLs with projector headlamps, LED tail-lamps, unique alloy wheel design and more. The bold shoulder line running across the car, gives it a distinctive look.

The inside of the Altroz is expected to come loaded with features. This includes a touch screen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a push button for start/stop, automatic climate control, a flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls and more.

The upcoming hatchback will also feature standard safety features to keep the occupants safe. This includes, ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, rear camera and parking sensors; among others.

Tata Altroz hatchback is expected to be offered with three BS-VI engine options: a 1.2-litre NA petrol producing 86bhp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol churning out 102bhp, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with a power output of 90bhp.

Transmission options will include a five-speed manual gearbox as standard across all three engines, while an AMT automatic option might be offered at a later stage. There are rumors about the Altroz getting an electric powertrain option as well using the Tata's latest ‘Ziptron' technology.

On the other hand, the Tata Harrier five and the upcoming seven-seater model is expected to carry forward the same 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that is featured on the current model of the SUV to make it BS-VI compliant.

However, we expect the upcoming (Buzzard) seven seater Harrier's engine to have a higher state of tune compared to the fiver seater Harrier. Tata is actively testing their Harrier seven seater model, ahead of launch in India — here are more details.

Like all other auto manufacturer in the country, Tata is gearing up to launch their BS-VI models, ahead of the deadline for new emission norms on April 1st, 2020. We can expect a series of launches from the Indian automaker starting with the Altroz hatchback next year. Tata would showcase their upcoming BS-VI models and Electric Vehicles ahead of their launch at the 2020 Auto Expo in Delhi.
