Renault Kwid Prices Drop After GST

Renault has passed on the GST benefits to customers by slashing the prices of its vehicles by 7 percent in India.

Following the trend of other carmakers in India, Renault India has announced a price reduction of its vehicles by 7 percent based on the new Goods and Services Tax (GST) in India.

Passing on the GST benefits to customers, the French carmaker has reduced prices of its best-selling Kwid, but will defer depending on the state, model and the variant purchased.

Mr Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations, said, "The roll-out of the Goods and Services Tax from July 1, is one of the biggest achievements of the Government, facilitating a 'one nation-one tax' system, aimed at fostering a congenial business environment."

He added, "While there may be a short-term disruption as the whole system adapts to this economic transformation, but in the long term, it will be very positive for the economy and corporate India. Reflecting our customer-first approach, we have decided to pass on GST benefits to our customers, further enhancing the value proposition of our products."

Renault Kwid Prices After GST:

Renault Kwid Climber AMT	Rs 5,200 to Rs 29,500

The Renault Kwid is available in 800cc and 1,000cc models, while the 800cc comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the 1.0-litre models come with the options of either the 5-speed manual gearbox or AMT gearbox.
