Yamaha To Launch More Powerful YZF-R1 For 2015
The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha is known for making the most track worthy tools till date. They are also well known for competing and winning several international motorcycling events across the globe. They have a wide range of motorcycles from dirt bikes, adventure bikes to litre class and hyper bikes too.
Over the past decade Yamaha's R1 has become synonymous with superbikes, around the world. The mean machine is the closest production motorcycle to Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo's MotoGP M1 machine. The R1 has been evolving steadily and the manufacturer has been incorporating MotoGP equipment to it.
Now the Japanese manufacturer confirms that a new and improved version of its R1 will be launched later this year. There were rumours that Yamaha was going to eliminate one cylinder providing a three cylinder litre class. However, it will continue with a four cylinder mill and gets a new cross plane crankshaft.

The 2015 Yamaha R1 is expected to boost of astounding performance figures. The Japanese engineers plan to extract 230 horsepower from it litre class motorcycle. It will sport improved traction control and electronic suspension system. It is also expected to sport dual clutch transmission as an option.

Yamaha will introduce two variants of its 2015 R1. The first will be a standard variant, which will produce slightly less power. There will also be a race variant, which will be more powerful and will have more electronics to improve various aspects of the motorcycle. Besides all of this it will also get a redesigned body and chassis.
