Will Messi's Retirement Affect Tata Motors' Contract?
Tata Motors has not been doing very well in the Indian market of recent. New vehicles that were supposed to boost sales like the Zest and Bolt received very poor response from customers.
Looking to change perspective of customers, Tata Motors took a big leap with the Tiago hatchback and even signed up Argentinian footballer Lionel Messi. The move did help Tata, since people were able to connect to the Tiago saying "Messi Car".
Now, since Messi has retired from International football, would it affect the contract between Messi and Tata Motors? The answer to that question is simply 'No'.
Tata Motors signed up the football start last year for around Rs. 60 crores per year, for two years. The contract can be extended and Messi will also promote Tata's upcoming launched like the Kite 5, Hexa, and the Nexon.
