The Finance Ministry has approved vehicles that can be bought under a few parameters and as long as the value of the new car is under INR 4,75,000. The parameters for buying new cars also include availability of vehicles, maintenance cost, service facility in the region, fuel economy, eco-friendliness and a few more.
The latest from the news from the Finance Ministry is that officials can totally replace the Ambassadors to a car of their choice as long as it is within the set parameters.
Many officials have already shifted to other vehicles like the Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, the SX4 and the Tata Indigo. Maruti and Tata are clearly the most popular car makers keeping that they fall under this budget and maintenance is much cheaper compared to other brands.
Many Government departments are still to decide what car and make to buy as there are so many options available in today's market.
