Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 India Launch Date Revealed

The updated Yamaha YZF-R15 has been spotted several times in India, and the motorcycle has already started arriving at dealerships. The report also states that the unofficial bookings for the new R15 V3.0 have begun at select dealerships.

The new iteration of the fully-faired 150cc motorcycle is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 1.25 lakh ex-showroom, which is slightly expensive than the R15 V2.0 which is currently sold in the country.

As per previous spy images, the India-spec R15 V3.0 is different from the globally sold model which comes with all the bells and whistles. The prominent change is the absence of inverted front forks. The India-spec model gets the conventional telescopic forks.

On the design front, the India-spec R15 V3.0 features a similar fairing as seen on the currently sold model, whereas the globally sold model comes with a new broader fairing. As per the spy pics, the motorcycle is shod with MRF tyres as opposed to the IRC tyres found on the international model.

The new 2018 Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 draws power from an all-new 155cc liquid-cooled, fuel injected, single-cylinder engine producing 19.7bhp and 14.7Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The India -spec model is likely to miss out on slipper clutch.

Apart from that, the new R15 V3.0 is equipped with sleek and sharp dual-LED headlights and tail light. The exhaust muffler is also new. But the India-spec model misses out on ABS, which is a bummer considering the features of the motorcycle. Apart from that, there are no changes done to the motorcycle.

The Yamaha R15 has been a leader in the 150cc fully-faired motorcycle segment. Now, Yamaha is all set to introduce the new R15 V3.0 in India. But unfortunately, the India-spec model is a cheaper version of the global-spec model which comes with all the bells and whistles. But the design of the new R15 looks stunning, and it will attract young buyers in the country.
