Kia Carens Clavis EV Launch Cancelled? Teaser Removed From All Social Media Handles
There has been a lot of noise around the launch of the Kia Carens Clavis EV in India. However, Kia India has silently pulled the teaser videos of the Carens Clavis EV from all of its social media handles in India.
This discrete move from Kia India hints at a possible delay in the launch of the Carens Clavis EV or there is even a chance of Kia India shutting down its plans to launch the Carens Clavis EV in the country.

That said, the chances of Kia India not launching the Carens Clavis EV is highly unlikely, as the company has already added 11,000 new charging points across the country through partnerships with 18 Charge Point Operators via the K-Charge platform in the MyKia app.
Kia Carens Clavis EV: Battery Pack & Range
Speaking about the Kia Carens Clavis EV, the model boasts a claimed range of 490km on a single charge. Since we expect Kia Carens Clavis EV to share its battery pack with the Hyundai Creta Electric - a 42kWh and a 51.4kWh battery pack.
Kia Carens Clavis EV: Powertrain and Technology
As mentioned, the powertrain of the Carens Clavis EV is anticipated to mirror that of the Hyundai Creta Electric. It will likely feature two battery options: a 42 kWh unit delivering around 133bhp and a larger 51.4 kWh pack offering approximately 169bhp. These options cater to diverse driving needs and preferences.
Kia Carens Clavis EV: Exterior
The exterior of the Carens Clavis EV features subtle changes such as a reworked front bumper and new dual-tone alloy wheels designed for better aerodynamics. A sealed-off fascia is likely to house the charging socket on the nose, complemented by a silver garnish below it and new ice-cubed LED fog lamps.
Kia Carens Clavis EV: Interior
Inside, the EV-specific updates include a redesigned floating centre console. The absence of a gear lever opens up more storage space. While the dashboard retains its twin 12.3-inch screens, Kia might introduce a new colour scheme for this electric variant.
Kia Carens Clavis EV: Advanced Features
The upcoming electric MPV is expected to offer advanced technology similar to its internal combustion engine counterpart. Features may include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, and wireless phone charging. Safety features are anticipated to include 6 airbags as standard.
Additionally, connected car options like a 360-degree surround view camera system and Level-2 ADAS suite are expected. The vehicle might also incorporate V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) technology akin to other modern electric cars.
Kia Carens Clavis EV: Seating Capacity & Competition
The Carens Clavis EV has been teased in a seven-seater configuration; however, it remains uncertain if a six-seater layout will be available like in its ICE-powered counterpart. Upon launch, it will compete with models like BYD eMax 7 in India's market.
DriveSpark Thinks
We expect Kia India to launch the Carens Clavis EV very soon in the Indian market, and the recent removal of the teaser from social media could be due to discrepancies related to the exterior or interior of the model in the teaser and the model launching in India.
