Kia Carens Clavis EV Teaser: Top 5 Things We Know So Far
Kia India recently shared a teaser video of the upcoming Kia Carens Clavis EV. This video provides a glimpse of the upcoming Carens Clavis EV, and here are the top 5 things you need to know about it.
Design
The exterior features a slightly modified front bumper and new dual-tone aero-efficient alloy wheels. The charging socket is now positioned on the nose, complemented by a silver garnish below it and new ice-cubed LED fog lamps. Overall, subtle changes distinguish the Carens Clavis EV from its ICE counterpart.

Interior Updates
Inside, the centre console has been redesigned with a floating layout, eliminating the gear lever for increased storage space. A new wireless charging pad is present along with additional controls. While the dashboard retains its twin 12.3-inch screens, a different colour scheme sets apart this EV version.
Range, Battery Pack, & Powertrain
The Carens Clavis EV shares its battery with the Hyundai Creta Electric, which offers two options: 42kWh and 51.4kWh. The smaller battery provides an ARAI-certified range of 390 km, while the larger one offers 473 km. It is anticipated that the Carens Clavis EV's impressive range comes from the larger battery pack. Additionally, it is expected to feature a 171hp/255Nm front axle electric motor similar to the Creta Electric.
Configuration & Market Competition
The teaser showcases a 7-seater configuration for the Carens Clavis EV; however, it remains uncertain if a 6-seater option will be available like in the top-spec ICE model. Upon launch, this electric vehicle will compete against models such as the BYD eMax 7 in India.
Expected Pricing
Kia's pricing strategy for the Carens Clavis EV is expected to align closely with that of the Hyundai Creta Electric, which ranges between Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs 24.38 lakh (ex-showroom). This competitive pricing could make it an attractive option for potential buyers in India's growing electric vehicle market.
