K-Charge Brings 11k Charging Points To My Kia App As Carens Clavis EV Launch Nears
Kia India is gearing up for the launch of its first made-in-India electric vehicle, the Kia Carens Clavis EV, on July 15, 2025. This new model is an all-electric version of the existing Carens Clavis MPV. The company has integrated the K-Charge platform into the MyKia app, allowing users to access over 11,000 charging points across India in partnership with 18 Charge Point Operators (CPOs).
By mid-2026, Kia aims to expand this network to more than 20,000 charging points. The K-Charge platform supports both urban and highway routes, catering to daily commutes and long-distance travel. Additionally, the MyKia app features an 'EV Route Planner' that helps users locate charging stations, check real-time slot availability, and make payments directly through the app.

Kia Carens Clavis EV Features
The Kia Carens Clavis EV is expected to share many features with its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. It will likely include advanced technology such as a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, and a wireless phone charger. Safety features are anticipated to include six airbags as standard.
The electric motor in the Kia Carens Clavis EV is expected to deliver around 133 bhp with a 42 kWh battery pack and approximately 169 bhp with a 51 kWh battery pack. The smaller battery pack offers a range of up to 390 km per charge, while the larger one promises up to 473 km. However, Kia claims that the Carens Clavis EV can achieve a range of up to 490 km on a full charge.
Powertrain and Technology
The powertrain of the Kia Carens Clavis EV is expected to be similar to that of the Hyundai Creta EV. The Creta Electric comes with two battery options: a 42 kWh unit and a larger 51.5 kWh pack. These options provide flexibility for different driving needs and preferences.
Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer at Kia India, expressed confidence in their strategy: "We are confident that this will not only enhance the ownership journey but also strengthen our leadership in the fast-changing mobility space." This statement highlights Kia's commitment to making electric vehicles practical and accessible across India.
Advanced Features
The upcoming electric MPV is expected to offer a wide range of connected car options along with a 360-degree surround view camera system and Level-2 ADAS suite. Moreover, it might feature V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) and V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) technology like other modern electric cars.
DriveSpark Thinks
Kia India's efforts reflect their dedication towards supporting India's transition towards electric mobility by providing reliable infrastructure through initiatives like K-Charge. As they prepare for this significant launch on July 15th next year; anticipation builds around what promises to be an exciting addition within their lineup.
