Datsun GO & GO+ BS6 Listed On Website: Features Improved Safety
The Datsun GO and the GO+ BS6 models have been listed on the company's website. The GO hatchback and the GO+ compact-MPV BS6 models are expected to launch once the Covid-19 lockdown is lifted in the country.

The company have listed both models ahead of its launch and have revealed a few features of the upcoming BS6 cars. The Datsun GO and the GO+ BS6 models will be available in seven variants — D, A, A(O), T, T(O), T CVT, T(O) CVT.

Both models will feature improved safety and will comply with the new safety norms that came into effect during October 2019. The new safety features include speed-sensing door locks, and improved side crash and pedestrian protection as well. The aforementioned changes are offered across all variants of both models.

Other safety features on the GO hatchback and the GO+ compact-MPV BS6 model include central locking, rear parking assist sensors, front airbags, a driver and co-driver seat belt reminder, ABS with EBD and brake assist.

The hatchback and the compact-MPV were updated with a new CVT automatic transmission in 2019. With that update, the Datsun GO hatchback became the cheapest model to feature CVT transmission in the Indian market. While the Datsun GO+ MPV added CVT transmission to its list of (USP) Unique Selling Points with the update.

The BS6 GO and the GO+ models will continue to be powered by the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, with no changes expected to the power and torque figures. The CVT variants of both the models in its BS4 format produced a maximum power of 77.5bhp at 6000rpm and a peak torque of 104Nm at 4400rpm, while the BS4 manual variants produced 68bhp of power and 104Nm of torque.

The Datsun GO rivals the Maruti WagonR, the Hyundai Santro and the Tata Tiago models in the Indian market. However, the Datsun GO features a superior CVT automatic transmission as compared to all its rivals that feature an AMT transmission. The Datsun GO+ will rival against the only competitor in the segment, the Renault Triber.

Datsun is expected to increase the price of both the GO hatchback and the GO+ compact-MPV BS6 models by a small margin over its BS4 counterparts.

In related news, Datsun is gearing up to introduce the next-generation Redi-GO entry-level hatchback into the Indian market. The upcoming hatchback will feature a host of upgrades over the previous-generation model. It will also feature a pair of BS6 compliant engines with manual and automatic transmission options. Here are more details about the upcoming Redi-GO facelift hatchback.

Thoughts About The Datsun GO & GO+ BS6 With Improved Saftey Features
The Datsun GO and GO+ are among the cheapest models to offer a CVT transmission in the Indian market. With the new and improved safety equipment on both models, we expect the hatchback and the compact-MPV to win back sales for the brand.
