New Maruti Ertiga 2018 Launch Highlights: Launched At Rs 7.44 Lakh
Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new Ertiga MPV in India. The 2018 Maruti Ertiga comes with a lot of new features and updates compared to the previous model. Bookings were already started a week before for an amount of Rs 11,000.
The latest iteration of the seven-seater Maruti Ertiga gets an entirely new look, with a more prominent bumper design, embossing grille and LED DRLs. The 2018 Ertiga also rides on a set of new 16-inch alloy wheels. Check out our first look review of the new Ertiga, to know more.
The new Maruti Ertiga is based on Suzuki's HEARTECT platform; the same one deriving the new Maruti Swift. The platform has made the 2018 Ertiga lighter yet being much larger than before. In fact, the Maruti MPV is 4,395mm long, 1,735mm wide and 1,690mm high. The wheelbase is the same at 2,740mm, while the ground clearance has reduced to 180mm.
The interiors get a total refresh with a dual-tone theme with faux wood inserts. The new touchscreen infotainment supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the rear passengers get roof-mounted AC vents.
The 2018 Maruti Ertiga gets two engine choices: 1.5-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel. The mild-hybrid petrol engine (the same as on the new Maruti Ciaz) makes 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. This will be mated to a five-speed manual or an automatic transmission.
The 1.3-litre diesel engine makes 89bhp and 200Nm of torque, and is mated to a five-speed manual. A diesel AMT might come in the future if demand persists.
The 2018 Maruti Ertiga is available in ten variants (four petrol; four diesel; two petrol-auto). Once launched, the new Maruti Ertiga will be a cheaper alternative to the Mahindra Marazzo and Toyota Innova Crysta.
