Jimmy Sheirgill Buys A Mercedes-AMG G63 — The ‘Brick’ SUV Is Worth Rs 2.18 Crore
Jimmy Sheirgill, Bollywood actor, buys a new Mercedes-AMG G63 SUV. Teased as a 'brick' among automotive enthusiasts around the world, the Mercedes-AMG G63 is a high-performance SUV with unmatchable off-road capability. Since the past few weeks, quite some Bollywood celebrities have bought luxury cars.
Here are two other recent purchases by Bollywood celebrities:
Jimmy Sheirgill's G63 AMG has a 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol, capable of putting out 571bhp and 560Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. Combined, the AMG G63 can do a 0-100km/h sprint in 5.4 seconds, till it reaches a top speed of 210km/h (limited).
Speaking of the SUV's off-road capabilty, the AMG G63 gets three locking-differentials. The system helps give the drive to any of the three: front axle; rear axle; or, all four wheels. In turn, the system guarantees optimal traction during all riding conditions. There is also a ‘low-range' mode which allows for smooth ascent and descent over steep slopes.
In case you are wondering what mileage the near 3-tonne SUV offers, you shouldn't expect more than 5km/l. But, high-end automobiles are never about mileage.
A more powerful Mercedes-AMG G65 is available in global markets. It is powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 producing 621bhp and 850Nm of torque. The same engine powers the ultra-luxurious Mercedes-Maybach S600 sedan.
However, the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG bought by Jimmy Sheirgill is the outgoing model. The new 2018 Mercedes-AMG G63 has been unveiled recently. The latest generation Mercedes-Benz G-Class has more curves than before, making it look less boxy.
The new G63 AMG gets a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine which puts out 585bhp and 649Nm of torque. It is mated to an improved form of the current 7-speed automatic transmission.
The new G63 can also reach a top speed of 220km/h, while being capable of doing a 0-100km/h sprint in 4.5 seconds. The latest generation G63 AMG also features a lot inside too.
Thoughts On Jimmy Sheirgill's New Mercedes-AMG G63
Expensive and exclusive cars and motorcycles are commonly used by Indian celebrities; Jimmy Sheirgill no exception. The actor's new G63 AMG can take on any terrain conditions with ease. Whether Sheirgill would take the ‘brick' for some proper off-roading and does not limit it to road-commute, is something we have to wait and see.
