The SUV segment in India is entering an exciting phase with every carmaker looking to grab a piece of the action. Nissan will launch the Kicks crossover in India in 2018 with the intention to offer a premium SUV from its stable.

While its global partner Renault is gearing up to launch the premium Captur in India, Nissan is looking to launch the Kicks in an attempt to gain inroads into the ever-growing SUV market in India.

Engine Specifications

The Nissan Kicks will share engine and the gearbox with the Terrano. That means the Nissan Kicks will be powered by the 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine which currently powers the Terrano, Duster and the upcoming Renault Captur.

Design & Style

The design and styling of the Nissan Kicks will follow the company's crossover styling theme giving the Kicks a distinct look. Nissan and Renault have been sharing their body shell design for most of the vehicles; however, with the Kicks, it will be unique.

Globally the Nissan Kicks is underpinned by Nissan's V platform; however, the India bound Kicks SUV will be underpinned by the M0 platform which currently underpins the Renault Duster, Lodgy, and the Captur. With a standard platform, Nissan will be able to price the Kicks competitively in the Indian market.
