Renault Captur India Launch Date Revealed
Renault India is all set to launch the Captur crossover SUV in the country.
French automaker Renault has recently unveiled its new crossover, the Captur in India. Now, CarandBike reports that the crossover SUV will be launched in the country on November 6, 2017.
The report also states that Renault already commenced dispatching the Captur to its dealerships across the country. The bookings can be made through Renault Captur app or Renault India website by paying a token amount of Rs 25,000.
The India-spec Renault Captur is based on the M0 platform which also underpins the Duster. The front fascia of the crossover features a V-shaped radiator grille with the logo in the middle, swept back projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights.
The side profile features strong waistline and a raised stance. The rear of the Captur sports LED tail lamps and satin finished skid plates and a clean tailgate design.

The interior of the Captur is equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system and automatic climate control. The dashboard is finished with fine quality plastic material. Other features include rain sensing wipers and cornering lamps.
The Renault Captur will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The crossover will draw power from a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines producing 104bhp and 108bhp respectively. The petrol variant will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox and the diesel engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The ARAI data states that the petrol variant of the Captur will return a mileage of 12kpl, whereas the diesel model will deliver 17kpl. Renault might also introduce an AMT variant in the future and the top-spec model might also get four-wheel-drive system.
The safety features of the Captur include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Brake Assist (BA). Renault also states that the crossover is for offset frontal and lateral crash.

Renault will finally launch the Captur in the Indian market in November 2017. The crossover SUV is likely to be priced in the range of Rs 11 lakh to Rs 15 lakh ex-showroom. When launched, the Captur will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV 500 and Tata Hexa.
