Lamborghini Teases Final Urus Off-Road Driving Mode And Its 'Terra'-fyingly Fast

Lamborghini's latest teaser for the Urus sees the SUV showing off its 'Terra' off-roading mode.

Lamborghini has been teasing the arrival of the Urus, its second venture into the world of SUVs for a while now and the latest teaser shows off the third and final off-road driving mode — 'Terra'.

Lamborghini had earlier shown of the Sabia (Sand) and Neve (Snow) off-road driving modes in earlier teaser videos for the Urus.

The last and final off-road mode - Terra (Italian for Land) seems to be more of a general purpose off-roading mode, though when combined with four-wheel steering and all-wheel drive systems and the ballistic 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8's power, it allows the Urus to sprint like a rally car on maximum attack mode on gravel.

The new Lamborghini Urus is based on the Volkswagen Group's MLB Evo platform which also underpins the Audi A7, Bentley Bentayga and the Porsche Cayenne.

The new Urus which will be unveiled on December 4, uses a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that will be tuned to produce around 650hp. Add in the expected weight savings over the extremely heavy Bentley Bentayga and the new Urus is expected to take the crown of the world's fastest production SUV from its British sibling.

Other than the final off-road driving mode, the new teaser also reveals the fully digital instrument console of the upcoming Lamborghini Urus, which is borrowed from the Audi Q7 but also gets pitch and roll meters dials in Terra (and hopefully, the other off-roading modes as well).

DriveSpark Thinks!

The Lamborghini Urus looks to be as crazy off-road as its supercar siblings, the Huracan and the Aventador are on tarmac. Whether the Urus will ever be allowed off-road by its owners after it arrives is something only time will tell, though our hopes aren't that high.
