Detroit Motor Show: Volvo S90 Teaser Images Revealed
Volvo Auto has released two teaser images of their soon to be launched S90 model. The all-new Volvo S90 will debut at Detroit Motor Show. It will be one of the very first models to sport Volvo's new design philosophy.
From the teaser image, not a lot has been revealed by Volvo. The all-new S90 sedan will sport LED headlights and taillights, along with Daytime Running Lights. To us, from the side Volvo S90 sedan looks more Audi-like than ever before.
New Volvo S90 will be based on the SPA platform, and it will be only the second model to use this architecture. So far, only engine options have been disclosed by Volvo. They are most likely to use a 2.0-litre Drive-E engine with optional performance outputs. Volvo will utilise an 8-speed auto transmission and will not provide manual transmission option.
The all-new S90 sedan by Volvo is most likely to be placed above its predecessor the S80 model. Volvo will introduce in several markets, and it is expected to gain high volumes for the brand. It is sure to come to Indian markets as well and will be launched post global sales commence.
Volvo India is confident on domestic sales and is even contemplating setting up a facility for local assembly. If Volvo can achieve this, they will be able to price their vehicles lower and pass the benefit to customers, thus, making their luxury cars an interesting proposition.
