Honda Cars India December Sales Grew By 30 Percent
Despite the overall poor state of the automobile industry in India Honda Cars India did manage to register a profit in the month of December 2013. The Japanese automaker grew by 30 percent by selling 5493 units during the last month of the previous year as compared to 4242 units during the same period in 2012.

Comparing the periods between April and December from 2013 and 2013 Honda managed to increase its profits by 66 percent. Honda sold 85,656 units last year, while it had sold 51,478 units during the year before that.

Model wise sales break-up for December2013 is as follows: Brio - 1026; Amaze - 4458; the now discontinued Accord - 9. Surprisingly, the company managed to export just 6 units, taking the total up to 5499 units. Also to be noted that not a single CR-V SUVs were sold during the last month.
Commenting on the company's performance, Mr.Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President - Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd., said, "Year 2013 has been very good year for HCIL business as we crossed one lakh units domestic sales for the first time in a calendar year with a total sales volume of 107,661 units during Jan - Dec 2013. The all-new Honda City has received an overwhelming response after its global preview in November 2013.We are looking forward to the launch of the New City and expect to continue with the growth momentum to continue in the New Year."
