Mercedes SLK 55 AMG India Launch On December 2
[Update: Launched] Mercedes Benz is clearly not holding back. The German automaker is determined to dominate the Indian performance and luxury car scene with the launch of one car after another. Following the launch of the C-Class Celebration Edition the automaker will next be bringing the SLK 55 AMG.

The sporty convertible with an AMG touch will be making its arrival in the country on December 2. The Merc SLK 55 AMG comes powered by a 5.5 liter V8 engine. The engine generates 421 HP, without the aid of turbochargers.

With its hard top roof on the SLK 55 AMG is capable of reaching 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds. An electronically limited top speed is reached at 250 km/h. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission.
The SLK 55 AMG gets all the expected bells and whistles from an AMG badged model such as a full set of body kit consisting of front air splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser. The brakes are larger and facilitate faster cooling. AMG sports suspensions provide a stiffer, more controlled driving experience. A few other changes over the regular SLK include, Torque Vectoring Brake, AMG Direct Steer, large 18 inch alloy wheels and Nappa leather interiors among others.

Lastly, the SLK 55 AMG offers three driving modes - Controlled Efficiency, Sport and Manual. Combined with Start/Stop system the SLK 55 AMG makes for a sporty, but efficient fun machine.
