Mercedes SLK 55 AMG Launch: Price In India, Features, & Details
Mercedes-Benz has launched yet another AMG variant of its model in India. This time its the SLK 55 AMG, the sportier version of the regular SLK roadster. Mercedes has priced the AMG convertible at INR 1,25,90,000, ex-showroom, Delhi.
The power plant powering the SLK 55 AMG is a 5.5 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine that's good for 421 HP and 540 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to the AMG Speedshift 7G-Tronic Plus seven speed automatic transmission.

It's rear wheel drive propels it to 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.6 seconds and the convertible can go on to achieve an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Mercedes SLK 55 AMG also comes with three driving modes that offer a well balanced ride - Controlled Efficiency (c), Sport (S) and Manual (M).
And speaking of efficiency, the new SLK 55 AMG is said to be 30 percent more fuel efficient than its previous edition. The car is equipped with ECO start/stop system and also features AMG cylinder management system, which essentially disconnects two cylinders when the extra power is not required.

As is typical to any AMG badged Mercedes, the SLK 55 AMG wears wide front fenders, side and rear skirts, larger air intakes, quad exhaust and has a lowered ride height. The wheels are black 18 inch AMG alloys with silver calipers.
Other exterior features include bi-xenon intelligent light system, adaptive brake light flashing, Active Bonnet and illuminated AMG door sills. The panoramic roof transitions from clear to dark depending on sunlight.

Performance oriented AMG hardware part of the package are AMG Sports Suspension, Torque Vectoring Brake and AMG Direct-Steer system, AMG rear axle differential lock, AMG performance steering wheel.
The new Mercedes SLK 55 AMG joins the other AMG performance oriented vehicles in India which include the C 63, E 63, SLS coupe and cabriolet and G 63 SUV.
