New BMW Z4 India Launch; Price, Specifications, Feature Details

The 2014 model year BMW Z4 roadster has been launched in India. The stylish new hardtop convertible was revealed earlier this year at the Detroit Motor Show. The new BMW Z4 is mostly unchanged from the outgoing model, with all the changes limited to cosmetic updates.

As always, the new BMW Z4 will arrive as a completely built unit, available across the country, with a starting price of INR 68.90 lakhs. Details and live images from the launch event in Pune can be found in the gallery below.

The new BMW Z4 looks mostly unchanged from the previous model on the outside, except for the headlamps, which now feature LED daytime running lights and new turn indicators.

The front bumper has been redesigned as well, along with added chrome surrounds for the grille. But these will go unnoticed unless one observes carefully.

Other notable additions include, new 18 inch alloy wheels, a brand new Valencia Orange colour option and a contrasting roof that's optional.

On the inside you'll notice that the seats have an orange stripe running across the middle which is new.Other updates come in the form of a center console finished in glossy black and anthracite wood. iDrive has been updated as well and it can now recognize iPhones.

The new BMW Z4 is available with only one engine option - the 3.0 liter twin-turbo 6 cylinder engine rated at 306 HP at 5,800 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,300 rpm and 5,000 rpm.

The engine comes mated to a 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. The new BMW Z4 is capable of reaching 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.

The two available variants are sDrive 35i and sDrive 35i Design Pure Traction (DPT). This variant receives the new Valencia Orange colour, Alcantara/leather upholstery, interior metal trims and BMW individual headliner anthracite.
