General Motors Cadillac In Another Two Years

The luxury car market in 2010 had the combined growth volume of 70% from BMW, VW, Audi and Mercedes. The company has got many divisions like Opel, GMC, Buick, Holden, Chevrolet, Cadillac and Vauxhall to deal its products in nearly 31 countries. The MD said the company has already made a feasibility study for this Cadillac and the response is too good to enter into that segment without any difficulty. For the Indian market, he said, the strategy would be to focus on service rather than on sales. This purports to the fact that already there are half a million Chevrolet cars on the Indian roads, making the market to be the fifth largest for the company. (for the apex company Indian market is the sixth largest). He said out of the overall industry growth of 31%, the company secured the growth of 60% and for this year the growth is anticipated at a double digit.
Already Chevrolet Spark is grabbing much revenue for the company and now the focus is on Beat which has been in the market since last year . GM has just introduced the LPG version of Beat, equipped with the engine from Smartech and is developed locally, at Rs4.53 lakhs. General Motors will launch the diesel version in the Q2 of this year.
