Honda Click 125 Scooter Patented In India
Japanese automaker Honda is already one of the leading two-wheeler brands in India. Its Activa scooter has achieved cult status among Indian consumers. Apart from the Activa, Honda also sells models like the Honda Dio, which helped establish the entry-level sporty scooter segment in the Indian market.

However, despite offering both 110cc and 125cc variants, Honda's scooter portfolio remains relatively limited. Rivals like TVS Motor Company and Hero MotoCorp have expanded into higher-capacity segments with models such as the TVS Ntorq 150 and Hero Xoom 160.
But Honda has largely focused on its strengths, as scooters above the 125cc segment still have limited sales volumes in India. Now, the brand has patented a new scooter in the India named Click 125. This model is already available in international markets like Philippines. It is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 11.2 hp of power and 11 Nm of torque.

Key highlights of this scooter includes a sportier design with LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and a smart key system similar to the Activa, along with anti-theft functionality. It also features a combined braking system, USB Type-C charging, telescopic front forks, twin rear shocks, tubeless tyres, 18-litre under-seat storage, and a 5.5-litre fuel tank.
Honda had previously sold a scooter named Honda Cliq with a 110cc engine, which was later discontinued. At the time, it was positioned as an affordable semi-urban scooter targeting budget-conscious buyers.
Now, with a similar name, Honda has patented a new scooter, although its launch in India is not yet confirmed. Patenting the design suggests that Honda are keeping its options open for future introduction. The 125cc scooter segment remains highly competitive and continues to be dominated by Honda through its Activa range.
