Harley-Davidson Reveals New RIDE Platform – Big Comeback Plans Begin

One of the world's most iconic and legendary American motorcycle brands, Harley-Davidson, is reinventing itself with an all-new RIDE platform that honours its century-long motorcycling legacy.

Harley-Davidson Reveals New RIDE Platform

The new global RIDE platform is expected to open a fresh chapter for the brand after several years of struggle in both American and international markets. This platform is aimed at a global audience and represents American motorcycle culture and heritage, while also appealing to modern-day rider expectations.

Speaking about the new platform, Harley-Davidson CEO and President Artie Starrs said, "I'm thrilled to launch the RIDE platform as a full reset of the brand ahead of our company strategy rollout in May. It celebrates the fun and joy people experience riding the world's greatest motorcycle, a Harley-Davidson."

With the introduction of this global platform, the company has also revived its iconic Harley-Davidson Shield and Bar logo, reflecting its intent to carry forward its legacy for future riders. The brand is expected to reveal its broader strategy in May 2026.

Harley's Brand and Legacy

Like Royal Enfield, Harley-Davidson is a legendary motorcycle manufacturer with roots dating back to 1903. Since, then it has built a passionate global fanbase, making the brand iconic for generations.

Although Harley-Davidson does not have a strong market share in India, the brand remains widely recognised among Indian enthusiasts for its legacy and heritage. With the RIDE platform being global, it could be manufactured in america and could be exported globally to many countries.

New Motorcycles For Indian Market?

Harley-Davidson could introduce new motorcycles in India. With the new FTA agreement signed between India and the US it is also possible for them to make these more accessible and value focused.

Despite being perceived as a premium and less accessible brand in India, Harley-Davidson has a huge respect among Indian riders due to its rich history. So, Indian consumers will also be very interested in buying these new models if they are sold at a competitive price.

However, unlike competitors such as Royal Enfield and Triumph, which have evolved to meet modern rider expectations, Harley-Davidson has been slower to adapt. The new RIDE platform is expected to bridge this gap by aligning the brand with current market demands.

If Harley-Davidson introduces more mid-size motorcycles in India, it could significantly improve its position in the market, where it has struggled over the past decade. In India, Harley-Davidson operates in partnership with Hero MotoCorp, which handles manufacturing, sales, and service operations for Indian customers.
