New Nissan Gravite MPV Drives Sales Surge – Beats Renault Triber
Nissan's newly launched Nissan Gravite MPV has emerged as the brand's biggest sales driver, even outselling its sibling, the Renault Triber. Launched in March 2026, the model has already started attracting new buyers.
Nissan Gravite MPV Sees Strong Sales
Nissan recorded strong sales in March 2026, with a total of 10,388 units sold. Domestic sales stood at 4,408 units, marking a sharp increase compared to the previous month. The biggest contributor to this growth is the newly launched Gravite MPV.

This compact MPV is based on the same platform as the Renault Triber and was introduced as part of Nissan's revival strategy. The move is now yielding positive results with encouraging sales numbers.
Nissan's resurgence could help make the Indian car market more competitive, especially after years of limited presence. While SUVs dominate buyer preference, MPVs continue to appeal to family-oriented customers, particularly in the budget segment.

Key highlights
The Gravite is a sub-4-metre MPV that stands out with its design, features, and technology. It offers features such as a dual dash cam, JBL speakers, an air purifier, and wireless charging-some of which are not available in the Triber.
Key highlights include a new-generation exterior design with silver accents, crystal LED headlamps, a 20.32 cm floating touchscreen infotainment system, rain-sensing wipers, a digital instrument cluster with TPMS, and 3-row AC vents.

Powertrain and Transmission
It is powered by a 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 72 PS and 96 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual or AMT transmission. It also features electronic power steering and front disc brakes.
Pricing Details
The Gravite is priced from ₹5.65 lakh (ex-showroom), going up to ₹8.93 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant. It rivals models such as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Kia Carens. To strengthen customer confidence, Nissan is also expanding its sales and service network across India.
The brand offers a standard warranty of up to 3 years or 1,00,000 km, along with 3 years of 24/7 roadside assistance. The next big launch of Nissan will be the Tekton SUV which is again based on the newly launched Renault Duster.
