LML Star & LML Hyperbike Names Trademarked Ahead Of LML’s Comeback As An EV Manufacturer

LML was once a very well-known brand in India. Based in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, LML was founded in 1972 and started off by producing synthetic yarn manufacturing machines. In 1984 though, LML became one of the most sought-after brands in the Indian market. This is thanks to its agreement with Piaggio to manufacture Vespa scooters in India.

Recently though, LML announced its return as an electric vehicle manufacturer. The EV market is extremely lucrative and it was only natural for LML to go the EV way upon its comeback. The brand announced an investment of Rs 1,000 crore within the next 3-5 years. The brand also announced a partnership with Saera Electric Auto to manufacture the EVs at the latter's manufacturing plant in Bawal, Haryana.

Now, the first two LML EVs names have been leaked. The first one is Star, which seems like a tribute to the old LML Star from the 90s. The LML Star EV is definitely going to be an electric scooter. However, the same can't be said for the next product. It is called LML Hyperbike and it definitely sounds like the perfect name for a motorcycle with great acceleration levels. However, nothing can be confirmed at the moment.

Not much else is known about the new LML electric vehicles. But we can say with certainty that the new LML vehicles will feature a stunning design and connected instrumentation. More details are expected to surface over the coming weeks.
