Casey Stoner Injured At Suzuka 8 Hours Race Due To Bike Fault
Casey Stoner has been injured during his dream comeback to two-wheeler racing. The Australian was set to compete in Suzuka at the 8 Hour endurance race with the factory Honda team.
Stoner and the other two riders from Honda showcased good pace throughout practice sessions. He was riding for the factory Honda team that has previously won the championship twice in a row.
The Australian double MotoGP Champion has suffered a broken shoulder and a fractured ankle. Stoner was in first place when the accident occurred; he was pushing really hard on the Honda machinery.
Honda technicians inspected the motorcycle and found that the accelerator was stuck open. Casey Stoner confirmed this issue and technicians at HRC will further investigate what caused this failure.
Casey Stoner expressed his displeasure by stating that both the team and his fellow riders put in a lot of effort over the last few weeks. The result was unfortunate and rather displeasing for him.
