KTM To Enter MotoGP Premier Class In 2017
For any manufacturer to prove their mettle, they have to compete in a racing event. There are many championships, however, if there is one that every manufacturer wants to win, it is the Premier class of MotoGP. It is considered the most elite class of motorcycle racing.
Next year MotoGP will witness the return of Japanese manufacturer Suzuki as a factory team. Italian manufacturer Aprilia was supposed to make its entry in 2016, however, are planning an earlier entry in 2015.
Now Austrian based KTM has announced it will make its way into the Premier class in 2017. They currently compete in Moto3 class and are top contenders for the championship with Jack Miller and Karel Hanika.

KTM has decided to enter with prototype machinery dubbed as the RC16. They plan to have a wild card entry in 2016, as Suzuki is planning for the same in 2014. Their MotoGP dream will be based on their existing RC8R model. The RC16 is also supposed to replace its current litre-class offering.
The Austrian motorcycle manufacturer's CEO Stefan Pierer, has also announced another surprise with its MotoGP entrant news. KTM will also sell their RC16 motorcycles to general public. It will be sold in limited numbers and will be the closest thing that can be ridden on street, which shares MotoGP lineage.

It is a bit too early to predict who will ride the KTM machinery in MotoGP. There are a lots of options open and the Austrian manufacturer could choose its Moto3 rider. There are also rumors that Germany's Stefan Bradl is among the frontrunners that KTM would like to close the deal with.
