Boeing 777 Gets Intercepted By Fighter Jets
A British Airways plane flying from Dubai to London had some rather inquisitive and rather deadly visitors when it was flying over the skies of Hungary.
The Boeing 777 which does duties as British Airways Flight BA108 had not gotten in touch with Hungarian Air Traffic Controllers as per protocol when it flew into Hungarian air space on its way to London's Heathrow Airport.
Fearing something was wrong, the Hungarian Air Force scrambled two of of its Swedish made Saab JAS 39 Gripen multi-role fighter aircraft to intercept the plane and find out what was going on.
The two Gripens were then seen on the sides of the Boeing 777 which had been having some issues while attempting to speak with Hungarian Ground Control. The British Airways flight finally did manage to communicate with Hungarian controllers after which the two Gripens peeled off back to base.
