Audi India Price Hike Announced
Audi India, the country's largest luxury car manufacturer, has announced a price hike for its vehicles sold in India. Prices of Audi models sold here are set to go up by nearly 3 percent. The new prices will be effective from May 1, 2014.
Audi says the reason for the price hike is to offset the negative impact of a constantly fluctuating rupee against the US dollar.

Audi reached an important milestone at the end of last year by selling over 10,000 vehicles in India. It has continued its fast growth in 2014 by achieving best-ever sales in India in the first quarter of 2014 and highest in a month, by selling 1,404 units in March 2014.
"While Audi has exhibited stellar sales performance in 2013 and in the first quarter of 2014, the overall market scenario has remained challenging with the constant fluctuation in forex rate, thus resulting in a rise in input and operational costs. To address this, we have rationalized prices, but have ensured that the impact is as minimal as possible. Additionally, we continue to offer our customers innovative finance solutions from Audi Finance which will make their purchase more attractive," said Mr. Joe King, Head, Audi India.
